Shaping The New Me...

The name came from a friend of mine.. I was having a hard time naming this new blog, because this new journey i am going on is to be more healthy, lose weight, look great, and feel great...

i really hope that people start to read my blog and maybe feel inspired even if its the fact that i am inspired to walk, eat healthy and feel healthy.. its going to be a long road but i feel that everyday is a new day and it is another day to shedding some pounds... i havent shed an amazing amount of pounds but every little bit counts..

i try to choose up beat and fun music when i go walking so if im alone that i can bust thru it and pursue my goals of 6 miles..

i will keep you all updated about my walking progress... i am hoping to go walking tomorrow night.. will be back later tonight or tomorrow

i did it i did it!!

hello everyone

i did it!! yes thats right, i walked 1.5 miles!! i achieved one of my two goals this week!!
i am so proud of myself, i had to push my self to do the extra half mile, i have a little knee problem, if it wasnt acting up i would of done the 4 miles, it just means next time i go that i will be pushing myself to do 1 mile more everytime until i reach 6 miles!!

the only thing that i would like to keep the same is that i have the support of my mom, and also i have decided to try and walk at least once or twice a week... i will walk as much as i can even if it has to be alone or alone with music... im still going to go for it and strive for my potential..

i am worth and so is my body

Hello Fellow Bloggers...

I started to update my blog, on thursday night after my 1.5 mile walk at the track.. but i fell asleep.. boy was i tired.. i have the best news ever, i have successfully completed my goals for this week, i even incorporated something new into my diet.. i started drinking tea... i havent started drinking good ol tea and milk and sugar.. i started drinking herbal tea.. i have started drinking twinings green tea and also tried a new herbal tea thats made by PC its called Mulled Apple... it almost tastes like apple cider but it tastes so much better.. if u find it to be a little bitter just add a little bit of sugar or splenda should be for a good starter to your day..

My goals for this week
1. Walk once or twice this week, for at least 4 miles maybe 6 miles..
2. Eat more fruits..
3. Read more books..

My weekend was awesome i went to toronto to see some family and went to my first ever cupcake decorating class.. we made easter cupcakes.. the cupcakes were made with fondant.. we made a chick, a sheep and a rabbit.. i will post pics once i get them on my computer.. i also had a family get together on saturday night, i had a fairly good night.. had some terrific rum punch.. also dinner was great a little mix of everything.. meatballs with yogurt sauce, rice, salad, chicken, chow mein with vegetables, beef ribs, and lasagna.. i had a little bit of everything except for rice.. although i love rice i wasnt really feeling it..

Friday
Breakfast- Egg mc muffin with bacon, water and oj
Lunch- Spaghetti and water
Dinner- Chicken souvlaki, rice, potatoes, and salad
Snacks- Apple, cashews, cheese flavoured rice cakes, water
Drinks- water, juice, and mulled apple tea

Saturday
Breakfast- Egg Sandwich with turkey bacon, bowl of strawberry's and pineapple
Lunch- chicken, rice and potatoes and salad
Dinner- Meatballs, salad, chow mein,chicken, half a piece of lasagna,
Dessert- piece of cake
Drinks- rum punch and water

Sunday
Breakfast- Egg Mc Muffin
Lunch- Apple
Dinner- Caesar salad, Chicken wrap
Snacks- 1 cup of strawberry yogurt, 1 cup of rice cakes, apple,
Drinks- Mulled apple tea, water, 1 can of Pepsi Max
Dessert- Small piece of cheesecake

I thought i would list what i eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and drink so that people can see and possibly make some suggestions as to things i could change or add to my diet... keep in mind though that saturday nights dinner is not something i eat on a regular basis, also the breakfast for the last few days also isnt something i eat on a regular basis.. i usually eat maple and brown sugar oatmeal...

Hello Everyone...

Well i have had a fairly good week, as far as healthy eating goes...
I was supposed to start doing WW this week, with my best friend and her mom, but something came up and i couldn't attend the meeting.. I am hoping to attend my first meeting in a few weeks.. even though i havent officially started WW, I am tryin to eat healthy on my own so when i start the meetings it will just be second nature to me..

my goals this week so far, are going well..
my goals were go for a walk at least once or twice this week, and the other goal was to eat fruits... i have not successfully completed both of them.. I am going tonight to this indoor track to walk.. i am going to attempt to walk 2 miles.. so that is 18 times around... not too shabby as i havent been to this indoor track since september..

my second goal is to also eat more fruits, i have only done that successfully once this week, i should be eating them at least once or twice a day but it is a little hard, where i work it is a little tricky to eat fruits but i think now im just making excuses for myself because i do have my lunch break and my fifteen mintue break.. so guess i know what my goal is going to be to eat fruits i have also bought this week some fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and green pepper and carrots.. im going to try and eat most of my vegetables with my dinners this week..

Valentines Day!!

Valentine's Day...

Another day, Another dollar... Valentines Day is just another day where people spend money on flowers, candy and cards...only for these things to be shriveled up, eaten up and thrown away... why waste your time and money on all the things that people should be buying there special someone significant other and life partner any time any day of the year no matter what the day is..

I weighed myself this morning before work and i am down by 1.5lbs.. YAYAYA MEEE!! i was a little shocked as i havent been doing all that's necessary to lose more... I have been cheating.. yes thats right cheating... I do tho eat, BREAKFAST,LUNCH & DINNER...

Breakfast
Oatmeal

Lunch
It varies from sandwiches, soups and/or salads

Dinner
It varies from vegetables, meat and some kind of pasta and/or potatoes

there are probably a few things that are missing.. snacks and fruits and drinks...

i am not really able to snack at my work.. i mean i have breaks.. but i have this dirty filthy habit... hmmm guess.. it is SMOKING so instead of snacking on some nuts, or a piece of fruit i have a ciggarette...

so one of my goals this week is to eat a fruit or some nuts on my way for that dirty filthy ciggarette...

Goals For This Week:
1. Eat more fruits
2. Go for a walk at least once, maybe twice a week

This was a short blog for today.. but I am not really sure i have much more to say today..

My name is Danni, I am 24 years old.. i weigh a whole whopping 186 lbs.. i know to many that may or may not seem like alot but to me i feel it is a struggle.. I have tried the eating healthy for a month or two at a time but ultimately doing these diets or plans dont help and also dont get me the results i want to see… i ideally would like to weigh 140-145, so that would mean that i would need to lose 40lbs so that would mean 5 pounds in 4 months means i could reach my ideal weight, but come on ppl be realistic for me since im obviously not being realistic enough.. it isnt really an itanable goal. that can be reached in 4 months… that would mean id have to do some intense working out and eating breakfast,lunch,and dinner..

i recently just started eating healthy at work.. i have a bowl of oatmeal in the morning for breakfast.. u are probably all saying wow thats a good start.. well for me it is the only start really to this whole healthy eating thing i have been trying to do…

i feel that it is a hard thing to do eating healthy why u are probably sayin.. that is because some days all i want to do is eat junk, when i say junk i mean popcorn,chocolate,ice cream and much more.. all those things are not good so i am going to have to make some small changes day by day if i want to see results…..

I recently made the decision to join Weight Watchers…Yes u read it WW (weight watchers)

I decided to name my blog “shaping the new me” because this next journey in my life is going to have its ups and downs.. those ups and downs are something i am very scared about facing… I know that i wont be facing them all alone, since one of my best friends has already been doing WW for almost 2 years and she has some amazing results.. the one obstacle that i will have to overcome is going to a gym or even incorparting physical exercise in my everyday life style..

i have decided to set small goals for myself through out the week and then at the end of the week i will check in and let u all know what my progress is..

goal 1:

eat more fruits and vegetables
go for a walk
